Maybelline New York Vivid Matte Liquid

Maybelline New York is one of the best drugstore makeup brands that is currently out in the mass markets ever since the brand first started out back in the hey day. They are always on point with the current trends from New York Fashion week to what's trending on social media then translating it for the everyday woman of all ages. The biggest trend to hit 2015 that has carried on to 2016 is matte lips and liquid lipsticks. Maybelline combined the two latest trends offering  high quality and performance at an affordable price. There is a total of 10 shades to choose from that range for that perfect everyday lippie to the deeper bolder night on the town with your boyfriend or gal pals lip color. Even though these are highly affordable Maybelline made these feel very luxurious. Full review and swatches.

I don't know about you but when Spring and Summer is in the air I love the weather but I love the new makeup  releases much more!  Maybelline has launched a whole new and exciting collection and their Vivid Matte Liquid lipsticks are at the top of list of the exciting newest products that has hit the drugstore aisles.

Let's talk packaging the packaging is in the shape of a square rectangle type of body, the packaging is sleek with the see through body so you can see what color your reaching for in case you have the name of the color upside down but in my personal opinon it is bulky some what. You do get the standard flat doe foot applicator that is supposed to apply 1 color layer in one full swoop, but with some of the colors in their selection you will have to build the color up with 2 layers.

Which leads me to the product itself Dolls let me tell you some of the shades were very hit or miss for me personally on my skintone. Some of them look great while others cause me to look very ashy and it's not an attractive look   These lippies have a thin mousse like texture that aides in the application of the product to your lips. In some of the colors you will get a pow in your face full on color and with some you will have to build up the intensity of the color to hide the natural pigmentation of your lips. The lipsticks do not dry to a flat matte but to more of a velvet matte without over drying your lips. These lipsticks do not seep into the fine lines and wrinkles in or around your lips. The lipsticks do last for about 3 hours with your normal talking, drinking and eating non greasy foods. And the most important thing about that is there is no transference on any of them I have kissed my boyfriend many times on the lips and no color gets on his lips what so ever. 

Overall I do rate these new lipsticks at a B I personally like the darker shades verses the lighter colors because they actually hide the natural pigmentation of my lips in one application. Maybelline did hit all the notes on their claims on how they feel and look on the lips but some of the lighter shades just didn't work out for me.
