Tarte recently released a decent amount of makeup products from their Spring 2015 Collection. Part of their new collection is the Smooth Operator Amazonian Clay Tinted Pressed Finishing Powder. Their iconic skin perfector is still the same product with a new revamped packaging. Full review and swatches.
Editor Press Samples: Tarte is a cruelty free brand that is all natural and treats our skin while we wear the products. We all have come to love this brand from our long walks through the Sephora and Ulta's beauty sections. When Tarte produces a product they put a lot of thought and effort into the formulations because they want their consumers to wear products that will protect and treat their skin while enhancing their natural beauty. The Tarte teams will literally go into jungles and find fruits, plants, clay, and find ways to derive the nutrients and ingredients into their formula so they can pack them into each every product.
I am sorry but who does not want to love a brand that actually thinks of us and our skin first before making money? I know I love them for that!
Here is the break down of the product from Tarte themselves:
delivers lightweight, buildable coverage while keeping skin looking fresh all day. Available in 4 skin-matching shades, the same great formula you love comes perfectly packaged in a sleek new compact with a full size mirror and touch-up sponge for seamless, mess-free applications. Harness the power of skin-balancing Amazonian clay to improve overall skin clarity and texture while the best-selling, buildable formula blurs over the appearance of large pores and other skin imperfections, while reducing excess oil for seamless, soft focus finish
The packaging is so cute while being symbolic in my personal opinion. It's all brown and engraved with a jungle scene with a river running through it. That's what it looks to me but others can interpret the packaging totally different from me :)
To be honest at first I didn't think that the 4 shades that this product comes in was going to fit all the skin tones from light to deep. I felt like they should have a few extra shades added to the collection to be more universal but Tarte has this user friendly and shopper friendly service called find your shade where you select your skin tone and it will list all the complexion products that will suite your skin tone shade. And Deep fitted Tan,Tan Deep and Deep. So now after seeing that I do think that 4 shades will be universal for skin tones.
The 2 shades that Tarte sent to me is Light and Medium
My Personal key points of this product are:
The texture of the pressed powder feels velvety and silky like cashmere. Very luxurious feeling on your skin, doesn't cling on to your dry spots or accentuate your problematic areas like enlarged pores or acne prone skin. Diminishes the appearance of your pores and blurs your imperfections when worn by itself or if over foundation just completes and ties in your final look. Also keeps the oiliness and shine at bay especially in your T-zone area. I say the coverage is buildable from light to medium, so I do like that if you wanted to spruce up but not put to much effort into it this will do the trick.
Overall dolls I do throughly enjoy using these pressed powders, I am a light medium and I could pull off either shade. Let me know if any of you Dolls will be picking up this product in the comment section below.
