Editor Press Samples: Lip Monthly is an interesting beauty subscription that mainly focuses on lip products you do get a range from drugstore to higher brands that you can find at your local Sephora or Ulta Beauty stores. I received my very first Lip Monthly bag 1 day before June which I don't know if that's how they normally run if it's like Glossybox that sends the boxes out mid to the end of that current month. But on Instagram I saw people got their's at different times and some got theirs around the same time I did.
The bag that it comes with a simple blue makeup bag with their logo all over it.
LM provides you a simple product card that tells you the items that you received how much they cost and the total bag value this month's bag retailed for $50.39 which is not bag for a only paying $10.00 a month for the subscription.
When I first opened the bag I was impressed to see one of my favorite brands which is OFRA Cosmetics and Milani. And I saw a new brand Jing Al and a mascara from NYC.
Here's what I got
OFRA Cosmetics Long wearing lipstick
I had to start out with my favorite brand and one of my favorite go to lip colors for that Kylie Jenner look. I already own this particular shade so this one is going to go in one of my giveaways that I will be hosting here very soon. This is the perfect nude pink shade that will not wash you out and make you look like a dead person. It will flatter all skin tones and is that perfect lip shade to go with any look for everyday or dramatic look. It has a thin texture and consistency once applied to your lips it dries after a few seconds from the initial application. It doesn't cling on to any dry areas of your mouth and will not fan or feather out into the outer crevices of your lips. It is a long wearing liquid lipstick that you will get 3-4 hours with normal talking, drinking and eating non greasy foods before having to reapply. Your lips will feel a little bit dry after a few hours so a lip balm will help that out but it will not cause your lips to look dry if that makes any sense lol.
Next Up I received a product from Milani
Milani released this collection last year in the fall and I have always wanted to try one but always forget to pick one up. I don't know why I do that do you? I mean it's so lame to think you really want something and then your at the store and poof you walk right by it or get distracted with other beauty products then you never purchase it. This is one of those lip gloss stains that you have to twist to pump the product up and that has a pointed stiff brush like applicator for precise application in lining, contouring and filling in your lips. The color is gawgeous lol, it reminds me of a watermelon type shade which is perfect for the summer. The texture is a little bit thicker than I imagined but it's not to thick that it will slick all over your face. The wear time is decent and the finish is a satin glossy finish.
Jing Al
Jing Al Velvet Shine Lip Jewel is a twistable lip crayon is highly pigmented, has a satin finish and looks beautiful on the lips. It does not fan or feather out on your lips or cling on to any dry areas. It also feels moisturizing on the lips and lasts about 3 hours before having to reapply.
Next up I received a Mascara from NYC that I personally never even heard of called Sky Rise.
The packaging is long and sleek with pink writing. The mascara's brush head is thin with small bristles. The formula is light weight not to thick or wet it's very airy like. This separates your lashes and adds length. It does not flake off or cause raccoon eyes after a few hours of wear. I liked how it was made in London I don't know why but that made me love even more because it's like a London high street makeup brand lol.
Well Dolls these are the items I got in May's Lip Monthly bag I have to say I am pretty impressed I do like that I got 3 full sized lip products that range from drugstore to higher end to another beauty product which was the mascara from NYC that I personally never heard of but am so Happy! to have tried it out because it's one of my favorites at the moment.
